What is SAP SD?
SAP SD (Sales and Distribution) is one the largest functional Module in SAP. It handles all the processes from an Order to delivery. The main operations this module handles are Customer Sales Orders processing , pricing, Picking, packing , Shipping, billing and risk management
SAP SD is an acronym for sales and distribution. As an important module of SAP explains the processes and procedures to be followed in the channel of order creation to delivery of the final product to the respective customer. This involves the aspects of selling, shipping and billing of products and services. This module greatly helps in inventory control and management and it consists of master data, sales support, shipping, sales, credit management, billing, foreign trade, sales information systems and transportation. This also involves system configuration and transactions processed. Some of the main functions of this channel are enquiries and quotations, sales orders and returns, consignment, contracts and scheduling agreements, credit and debit memo requests, rush orders and cash sales, back orders and subsequent deliveries. SD process mainly works from enquiries, raising quotations, sales order creation, fixing MRP's and subsequently production, delivery and invoicing. A sales process typically involves customer order creation, picking, packaging, goods issue, billing and accounts receivable work.
